My name is Aysel (Bariscan) Alldredge and I'm a Turkish citizen currently living
and working in Salt Lake City, Utah. My history is somewhat unique for a person who
grew up a Muslim in Sivas and Izmir, Turkey. I am one of the few converts to the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who converted to this religion in Turkey.
My interest in genealogy began after converting to this religion. I have found over
100 names for my family and others going back to 1771 in Turkey, without the help
of many records. All of the names I've found have been recorded in the International
Genealogy Search Center in Salt Lake City. Many of the records in Turkey are in the
Arabic and Ottoman languages, as well as in Turkish. Doing genealogy research in
Turkey is a very tender subject especially for Armenian, Greek, and Italian people
with roots in Turkey because of the history and politics of the country and region.
I feel that one of my purposes in life is to help people with roots in Turkey and
this part of the world to find their ancestors. I consider this a work of joy and
only charge the travel and basic living expenses and a reasonable rate which can
be negotiated. I look forward to working with you.
Please feel free to email me and I will be happy to discuss your requirements.
